Candle Care Ritual

Every Astro candle is handcrafted in small batches as a ritual tool, created with soy wax, carefully selected materials and intention.

To care for your candle — and allow it to burn safely and evenly — follow these guidelines:

• On the first burn, light your candle for approximately 5 minutes, then extinguish the flame and carefully remove the crystals once the wax has softened.

• Once the crystals have been removed, relight the candle and allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface. This helps prevent tunnelling and supports an even burn throughout the life of your candle.

• Burn your candle for approximately 2 hours at a time, and never for longer than 3 hours.

• After extinguishing the flame, gently centre and straighten the wick while the wax is still soft.

• Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch / 6 mm for a cleaner, more controlled flame.

• Discontinue use when approximately ¼ inch / 6 mm of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.

• We recommend using a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame.

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.

• Never move the candle while lit or while the wax is liquid.

• Keep away from children, pets, draughts and anything that may catch fire.

Care for the flame, honour the ritual.

Removing Your Crystals

The crystals within your Astro candle are part of its ritual correspondence and are intended to remain with you beyond the candle itself.

To remove them safely:

1. Prepare your ritual space
Place your Astro tray or another heat-safe surface nearby, ready to receive the crystals.

2. Light the candle
Light your candle and allow it to burn for approximately 5 minutes. This gently softens the wax surrounding the crystals.

3. Extinguish the flame
Fully extinguish the candle before attempting to remove anything from the wax.

4. Allow the wax to settle
Wait briefly until the wax is safe to approach while remaining soft enough for the crystals to be released.

5. Remove the crystals
Carefully lift each crystal from the softened wax, taking care around the wick and warm wax.

6. Place them on your tray
Set the crystals aside on your ritual tray and allow them to cool completely.

Once removed, the crystals can remain beside your candle during ritual, be carried with you, placed on your altar or worked with according to their correspondence and intention.
